Weston under Penyard Warriors FC held their end of season trophy day on Sunday, July 8th. The club was very excited to invite five times world football freestyle champion, John Farnworth to Weston for the whole day. As he had only just returned from Switzerland 24 hours earlier and was taking off to America 48 hours later, the club was very grateful for his time. The morning session was taken up with a freestyle workshop, where John went through some of the moves that are required in freestyle football.

After lunch the players from the club were split into three groups and were asked to come up with a 30 second routine, that was then performed in front of parents and other players. The lads did really well considering it was their first effort at freestyle.

There followed a fantastic demonstration from John Farnworth that left the players lost for words . John then signed autographs for all the players before handing out trophies.

The golden boot was awarded to Bradd; the parents' player of the season was awarded to (captain) Jonny; the players' player went to Subinaya; the most improved player was awarded to Lewis; the player of the season was awarded to Subinaya and the new award for fair play went to Christian.

Everyone then enjoyed a bbq and reflected on what had been a fantastic day. Weston Warriors FC would like to thank Clive Challenger building services, Peter Hickman Hairdressing, Mr T dry cleaners for sponsoring the tropies, and Mark and Debbie Waring for buying next season's training and match balls.

Weston Warriors FC is looking for more players to play in next season's U14s league, if you would like to join this well organised exciting club come along to training on August 9th, 6.30– 8pm at Weston Village Hall.
