Gloucestershire police are urging people to be on the lookout for anyone trying to spend or exchange an old-style £50 note, after a quantity was stolen in a burglary earlier this month.
The old £50 bank notes - bearing an image of Sir John Houblin - were withdrawn from circulation in 2014, and no longer have legal tender status, although they can be exchanged at the Bank of England in London.
The offenders also took some US dollars and Scottish bank notes, and may also try to use or change these with retailers, banks or members of the public.
Anyone with information about this cash is urged to call 101, quoting incident 423 of 23/2/17.
