UPDATE: The A40 between Whitchurch and Ross-on-Wye has been reopened following the collision this morning between a Landrover and a trailer.Three cows and three calves were inside the trailer when it overturned. However, the cattle were unhurt but taken by another vehicle to a vet for a check up.Cattle which were being transported by trailer along the A40 this morning are currently being contained within the vehicle after it overturned.

Two fire crews from Ross-on-Wye, one from Whitchurch, and an animal rescue unit from Bromyard attended the incident, which began at just after 10am this morning, April 27th.

The dual carriageway in Pencraig has been closed in both directions as the road is cleared.

Police are in attendance and an ambulance has left the scene, no persons were reported trapped but the cattle, which appear to be unhurt, are all still secured inside the trailer.
