A cow which had become trapped in the river near to Welsh Bicknor was rescued by Fire Fighters from Hereford and Whitchurch on Wednesday, November 22nd at 10.30am.

A boat from Hereford, and the animal rescue unit from Bromyard were able to rescue the cow, which had gone into the River Wye near Whitchurch, using the boat and a harness, and lead it to safety.The cow was handed over to the farmer.
