A collision involving a car and a heavy goods vehicle has brought parts of the M50 to a standstill, Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue have reported.

The incident occurred on the M50 Eastbound between Junction 2 and Junction 1.

At approximately 2.23pm the Fire Service were called to reports of a two-vehicle collision involving the central reservation. Four fire crews, including one from Ross-on-Wye, two from Hereford, and one from Upton upon Severn, are at the scene.West Mercia Police have reported that the ambulance service and Highways England are also in attendance, and road closures are currently in place.A spokesperson for the Ross-on-Wye Safer Neighbourhood Team said: "Please note we are currently dealing with a serious RTC on the M50 near Tewkesbury J1. Resources are being deployed. Both carriageways are currently blocked. Please take a different route."
