PCSO Simon Hall attended the Ross-on-Wye Town Council meeting on Monday, April 8th. He told the Council that there are ‘pockets on antisocial behaviour around town’, particularly in the Roman Way area. He said: “Unfortunately we are no closer to getting any names, so we are urging residents to interact and mention it to other people. We are appealing for people to come forward and help police. Trying to get names and addresses isn’t always easy.”
Simon said that the Roman Way issues relate to children knocking on doors, causing low-level criminal damage and frightening residents, most commonly between 6pm and 7.30pm.
In relation to these incidents, Councillor Paul Symonds asked Simon if there will be additional front line staff coming to Ross-on-Wye.
Simon said: “Base those questions around PCC for accurate details; that’s through response, I work on SNT. However, I believe there’s extra staff going to response teams. When that is - I don’t know.”
Councillor Caroline Utting asked Simon if he had any further information about the broken shop windows. He explained that although many residents are concerned it is the same perpetrator/s targeting shops, they are isolated incidents. Additionally, he confirmed that the SNT believe that the police have identified those involved.
Councillor Harry Bramer concluded by saying: “It’s always good to see police contingent here.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
