Fire crews from Ross-on-Wye have just removed a canopy from the second floor of the former Golden Crust Bakery, which had become detached in the wind, and was a safety concern.
Two fire engines were in attendance at the scene on Broad Street.
The Bakery, which has been closed for several months, is set to re-open in three weeks. The new manager, Michael Nevin, contacted the Ross Gazette to share images of the fire crews carrying out the safety works.Michael told the Gazette that the bakery, which will be called The Ross Bakery, will have all the usual delights, plus high-quality real French bread, English traditional bread and cakes, and freshly made sandwiches, baguettes and subs.
