A local resident and her cat had to be treated for smoke inhalation following a fire at their home in Ross-on-Wye on Sunday, September 23rd. Both pumps from Ross Fire Station were called to a kitchen fire on Sunday which had been started by a stove top chip pan.

The pan had been smothered prior to the arrival of the fire service. it was then taken outside by a member of the team wearing breathing apparatus. The kitchen was then damped down using a hose reel. Once it was confirmed that the fire was out, the kitchen was ventilated.
