Dear Editor,

Thank you for coming to cover the Christmas Fayre this weekend. Despite some drizzle and windy weather we had lots of visitors and the stall holders and organisers were pleased.

St Mary’s Choir and Ross Town band entertained the crowds as well as Xentricity and our MC Ben Abbott did a superb job. The event was a big success and Father Christmas and his reindeers Comet and Blitzen were particularly popular.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those involved behind the scenes who helped set up the day and for those who tirelessly stewarded all day long. Without people giving generously of their own time in the lead up to the Fayre nothing would have happened this weekend, and this is particularly important to keep in mind when some still seem sadly to revel in the criticism of local happenings. We have a lovely town and the Fayre showed me once again the Ross community spirit.

If anyone else feels they can add to the town please pop along to any of the Town Council’s monthly meetings to see how things happen and how you could improve upon it. Particular thank you to the Events Committee and to our wonderful Councillors Caroline Bennett and Craig Morgan, who worked equally hard to make sure the town had a Christmas Fayre.

Thank you once again Ross.

Cllr Hannah Lerego
