MEmbers of Ross Civic Society threw themselves into the celebration of the Georgian era with enthusiasm. Dressed by Iris Price the group each took a part as a character from the history of Ross. Walkers, accompanied by the Town Crier and several members of the AONB team then came upon the various historical figures on their way from the centre of Ross to the Wye.

From the poor at the Almshouses to the great and good at the Prospect, everyone played their part well and stayed in character for the whole day. Nelson and Lady Hamilton even boarded a rowing boat and were rowed down the river to the site of the re-enactments at the Caroline Symonds gardens.

With workshops explaining Georgian food, drink and costumes, facepainting and Punch and Judy shows there was something for everyone.
