A WEEKEND celebrating one of the area’s best-known spring sights will return to Dymock later this month.
The Daffodil Weekend and Spring Fayre will take place at Dymock Parish Hall on Saturday, March 21 and Sunday, March 22 from 10AM to 5PM each day.
Visitors will have the chance to see the famous wild daffodils that bloom across the surrounding countryside, with free guided walks taking place at 11AM and 2.30PM on both days.
The walks will begin from Wintour’s Green outside St Mary's Church and will guide people through some of the best local spots to see the seasonal flowers.
For those who may prefer not to walk, organisers say information will also be available about circular driving routes around the area where the daffodils can still be enjoyed from a vehicle.
Inside the hall, visitors will be able to browse a range of trading tables selling items such as jewellery, greetings cards and other goods.
Light refreshments will also be available throughout the weekend, including bacon baps and the hall’s popular cream scones.
Members of the Dymock Biodiversity Group will also be present during the weekend, sharing information about local wildlife and biodiversity in the area.
Organisers say the event is designed to be a relaxed community day out, with families, friends and dogs all welcome to attend.
Dymock is located on the B4215 and is also served by the 232 Daffodil Line bus connecting Ledbury, Newent and Ross-on-Wye.
Entry to the event is free, although organisers have reminded visitors that purchases at the fayre will be cash only.
The guided walks are expected to be particularly popular if the spring weather remains favourable, with the surrounding countryside around Dymock known for producing impressive displays of wild daffodils.
