The driver of a vehicle which was stopped by the West Mercia OPU which patrols Herefordshire roads had an unusual excuse for his defective real light.

The officer who stopped the vehicle said that the driver explained that he bought his son a hamster for christmas, which had eaten its way out of its transport case en route home and has taken up residence in the car, feasting on the wiring.

Sadly the officer does not give any further details about the hamster but hopefully he was rescued.
