The John Kyrle Retirement Club recently celebrated their 51st Christmas party. Members and volunteers were present, and there was also a prize draw with over 50 prizes.

The party was preceded two days earlier by their annual Christmas lunch at the Eagle Inn, followed by a day trip to the German Market in Birmingham. This trip was the last day trip of 2015; the club will reopen on Tuesday, January 5th, with the first day trip of the year taking place on Monday, January 11th.

The Retirement Club is situated in Pigs Alley, just off High Street in Ross-on-Wye. The club is open from Tuesday through to Saturday from 9.45am until 11.45am, for teas, coffee, hot chocolate and cold drinks. Drinks are 50p each.

There is also knitting on a Tuesday afternoon from 2pm until 4pm, and whist on a Thursday afternoon from 1.30pm until 3.30pm. The club is open to all; membership costs £4 a year, but non members and visitors to the town are also welcome to pop in.

The day trips are also open to all, and a list of upcoming trips is available at the club. If you are alone or part of a couple you will be welcomed; it is a great place to make friends.
