Charlotte the hedgehog, who was severely injured in Ross-on-Wye as the result of someone strimming the grass she was sleeping in, has made a fantastic recovery and was released back into the wild during the evening of Thursday, June 27th.

The Ross Gazette first reported on Charlotte’s plight back in May when she was found in the Oaklands area of Ross-on-Wye with an horrendous injury.

For the past five weeks she has been cared for by Mo Webb, a local hedgehog carer, and has made a fantastic recovery.

Charlotte Reynolds, who helps to run Ross-on-Wye Hedgehog Care and Advice Facebook page told the Ross Gazette "Charlotte the hedgehog, injured by a strimmer, was released back into the wild last night. Just under 6 weeks ago she was captured after I spotted the wound on my wildlife camera. We really didn’t think she would make it. But last night she was back out in the big world! A huge thank you to Mo for the love and care she gave her. This is a happy outcome for Charlotte, but also serves as an important reminder to check your gardens before mowing and strimming."Warning: Picture gallery contains graphic images of the hedgehog's injuries.
