A recent train journey marked the start of a collaboration between the Walford Community Support Scheme and the Ross Action Bus.
Following the very successful Easter flower arranging workshop and demonstration, the event on Wednesday, May 2nd was part of a programme of events called What’s on Walford – or WoW for short.
A party of 12 members of the Scheme boarded the Ross Action Bus in Walford, bound for the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Heritage Steam Railway at Toddington. Despite the unseasonably heavy rain showers, the group enjoyed the trip to Cheltenham Race Course and back, taking lunch and participating in plenty of laughs and chat on board the wonderful steam engine.
WoW is a programme of activities and events, across the year, for all those living in the Parish of Walford using the Community Support Scheme. The Scheme is in place for any Walford parishioner requiring assistance with, for example, loneliness, isolation, basic DIY or paperwork tasks. For more information, please contact the Community Support Scheme Coordinator, Sarah Hayes on 07493 171 430, or email [email protected].
Walford Community Support Scheme is very grateful to the Ross Action Bus Committee for their help in making the day so successful.
