Crowds turned out to watch the spectacular It's a Knockout competition in Ross last weekend. Teams from several local companies and organisations took part in the wet and wild games and dozens of local families enjoyed the chance to sit in the sunshine and soak up the fun.
Supporters of HOPE Support Services were on hand at 'It's A Knockout', providing face painting, crafts workshops and other fun activities for the children who came to watch the day's events. 'Hope' is a local charity set up by Sue Trevethan to support young people and children when a close family member is diagnosed with a life threatening illness.
On sale were 'Hope sausages', sausages provided especially by Cornwalls butchers who has put forward his prime pork against other Herefordshire butchers in a sausage competition run by 'Hope'. Also on sale were items handmade by Rosie Killburn, a 19-year-old girl sadly diagnosed with cancer in February, 2008. Young Rosie is just one of the many young people that 'Hope Support Services' has worked with over the past two years.
Sue called the day "a great success" and would like to thank all the competitors, families and stalls for their generosity in helping a fantastic cause.
