MADAM, I was so pleased to see the letter from D Roberts last week, thanking all the staff from the John Kyrle High School. All together they must have given several hundreds of years service. I therefore echo the thanks to all the staff who have left and I am sure I say this on behalf of many in the community who will have thought exactly the same as I did. It was therefore really sad to note that there has been absolutely no mention from the Headteacher Nigel Griffiths about the wonderful contributions that each and every one of these staff have made to the school, with many also doing so much for the community. Former staff and parents could have contributed to leaving gifts and presents. A real disappointment that this was not to be.
Whilst we all say well done to the students who have received excellent results this year, and they deserve to have achieved well, let's also think of these wonderful staff who have contributed to these superb results and who seem to have been forgotten by the Headteacher.
Can I therefore say a real 'thank you' on behalf of my family and friends to: Mrs Gill, Mr Chatwin, Mr Deneen, Mrs De-Santis, Miss Davies, Mrs Gibbons, Mr Herbert, Mr and Mrs Morris and Mr and Mrs Vinall.
I have also just heard that Joyce Thomas has resigned from the Board of Governors at the school, and what a wonderful contribution she has made there, with nearly 40 years of service, all given voluntarily – can I say on behalf of my family and many others, 'thank you' Joyce for your work and all that you have done to make the school the success it now is. You have been a great ambassador and will be really missed.
A Taylor,
Ross
