Madam, A member of the Conservative Club mentioned that your paper was asking how people had celebrated St George's Day. Did the Con Club celebrate St George's Day? We certainly did!

First of all, our flag fluttered (weather permitting) proudly all day. In the evening we had a special celebration dinner featuring roast Herefordshire beef with Yorkshire pudding, followed by apple-pie made with locally grown Bramleys.

Our function room has a separate dancing area so after some lusty singing of 'Land of Hope and Glory' and 'I Vow to thee My Country' we danced the night away to music and accompanying videos provided by the highly recommended Pink Panther. It was a night to remember.

Jo Hardy-Bishop,

Secretary

Editor's note, It sounds as if you had a very enjoyable and patriotic evening.
