Some?members from the Three Counties Hunt Saboteurs came to the Ross Harriers dog show, on Sunday, August 16th.

The members from the Hunt Sabs spoke with the Ross Gazette. They explained that they are concerned some dogs are being used to hunt wild animals, but their protest was a peaceful one, and they just wanted to remind the Harriers of their presence in the area, by showing their faces.

The members of the Hunt Sabs did not stay at the dog show very long; as a badger cull, just over the county border in Gloucestershire is imminent, they said it is a very busy time, and they have a lot of preparation to do before the cull begins.

Some of the visitors to the Ross Harriers dog show also spoke to the Ross Gazette, concerning the protesters. Many of them seemed confused as to why they were there. One commented, “I don’t know what they’re trying to prove. This is just a family dog show. It’s got nothing to do with the hunt.”

Another spoke to the Gazette, saying he didn’t think there would be any trouble. He also pointed out that the dogs at the show were given plenty of water to stay hydrated in the heat.
