Three members of the Ross Gazette team were thrilled to attend the recent wedding of our former colleague and journalist, Catherine Barkley.

As many readers will remember, her boyfriend Will Barradale-Smith used the pages of the Ross Gazette to propose to an unsuspecting Cat.

They made plans for their wedding, which, as both families live near to Ross, would be local. However, a job opportunity for Will led to the couple moving across country where Catherine was snapped up by the Bishop Stortford Independent newspaper.

They have quickly put down roots in their new home town but went ahead with the wedding as planned. As well as their local family and friends there were guests who had travelled considerable distances to be with them. The sun shone as the couple exchanged their vows in the beautiful fairytale surroundings of How Caple Court, compete with peacocks.

The day was a joy from beginning to end and we all wish the new Mr and Mrs Barkley a wonderfully happy future together.

The couple are set to enjoy a blissful honeymoon in Corsica.
