Thanks to a huge lottery grant, of over £100,000, and hours of work put in by dedicated villagers, St Peter's Church at Peterstow is once again a vibrant and attractive place ready to play a full part in the life of the village.
Retaining the beauty and tranquility of the original church but making the space more usable for a variety of different events was a tall order but the achievement was celebrated when the new look St Peter's Church and Hall was revealed during the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, June 27th and 28th.
On Saturday the building was opened as St Peter's Hall and many villagers came to see for the first time the terrific changes which have been wrought. Gone are the pews and in their place are sturdy new chairs which can be moved to suit whatever activity is being held in the hall.
However, although some parishioners were worried about the changes, these fears were allayed on Sunday when the Right Reverend Anthony Priddis, The Bishop of Hereford, re-ordered the church and it was once again used as a place of worship.
