The recent visit to Ross-on-Wye by residents of the twin town of Condé went very well.
Councillor Chris Bartrum told the members of Ross Town Council that the visitors, who live in a town a little smaller than Ross, were very impressed by the number, and range of shops in the town. They loved looking around the charity shops and visiting the cafés and thought Ross was lucky to have so many coffee shops and restaurants.
They also admired the scenery when they travelled around the area. They compared it to France where farmers often remove hedges and trees rather than keeping the lush green scenery.
The visitors included a group of young tennis players who took part in a tournament at Ross Tennis Centre. They were also treated to a fish and chip supper while they stayed at the Ross Scout and Guide Headquarters.
Plans are already underway for the visitor’s return in 2018 as this will mark the 40th anniversary of the link.
