Despite the huge changes planned to the way the ambulance service is organised throughout the county, people in Ross and the surrounding area will be better off when the new scheme, called Make Ready, is up and running, according to a service spokesman.

The main principle behind the Scheme is that ambulance crews will be able to use a vehicle that is ready for them whenever they need it. At the moment some of their time is taken up with cleaning up and restocking after incidents. As part of the changes an ambulance station will remain in Ross but the garage will go.
