THIS weekend the Ross Juniors faced new Sporting Salmon and, despite having an injury hit squad with key players such as Captain Sam Loftus on the sick list, Juniors were desperate to make up for last week's close call.

They were keen to stamp their authority on the game early but struggled to get into the rhythm. It was very much against the run of play when they took the lead after a slick Ted Loftus dummy created the space for Andy French to calmly pick his spot and put Ross a goal up after six minutes.

A further 15 minutes had passed when Kevin Trotman's through ball found Andy French who chalked his second of the day. Although two goals to the good Juniors were not playing well. They had a wake-up call on the half hour mark when the oppostion clawed a goal back.
