Members of Ross and District U3A (University of the Third Age) celebrated their 25th anniversary with a special party on Monday, December 11th.

Despite the previous day’s heavy snow, which did reduce numbers, those who managed to get to the Larruperz Centre had a very enjoyable afternoon.

The event was organised by Marilyn Reynolds, the Ross U3A chairwoman, and her yoga group. The food, which included hundreds of sandwiches, scones and cakes, was prepared by the ladies who then acted as waitresses to the guests.

Happily, two of the original members of the Ross and District U3A, Barbara and Lesley, were present at the celebration.

After outlining the origins of Ross U3A in 1992, Marilyn invited the Mayor of Ross, Councillor Nigel Gibbs, who was accompanied by his wife, Mayoress Gill Gibbs, to cut the celebration cake.

Before a final toast to the future of the branch, guests enjoyed the entertainment provided by Richard Watson and Michelle Cooper of the Phoenix Singers.
