There was a special ceremony and assembly held at Walford Primary School to thank all the pupils who were appointed as Apple Ambassadors. The school is a regional training centre for Apple and its working with iPads in schools. Pupils have been superb in their support of the IT work within the school and beyond.

The Chair of Governors, Paul Deneen OBE JP DL, visited the school and made a presentation to each of the ambassadors, and to thank each pupil for the input and involvement which was greatly appreciated. He also took the opportunity along with the Headteacher, Louise George to thank Claire Weyman for co-ordinating the work of the ambassadors.

Mr Deneen said: “Huge thanks to the the Headteacher, Louise George and to Claire and members of staff at Walford and the Parent Teacher’s and Friends Association for the excellent work in arranging the ‘The Red Carpet and Walford Oscar’s Event,’ which also proved to be a great success, and was enjoyed by all.”See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
