TWO men have been arrested and released on police bail following what is thought to have been a racially motivated assault in Ross, on Sunday July 14th. A man was taken to hospital after a night out in Ross which ended when he was attacked in Brampton Street, in front of two women.

Police are still hoping that more witnesses to the incident will come forward.

The victim and two female companions were walking home, along Brampton Road, at around 2.15am when the male was subjected to an unprovoked assault as his attackers believed him to be 'foreign'.

As well as being verbally abused, the man was the victim of a serious attack and was taken to hospital with head injuries.

The two women who tried to intervene were also assaulted.

Both attackers are described as white, with one of them about six feet tall, of thin build and wearing a blue t-shirt. The other wore a distinctive red t-shirt which had white stripes.
