Ross-based artist, Mary Deaville, winner of the Newent Art Competition, will be displaying her work at the Onion Fayre on September 8th.
Mary will be in the Shambles Craft Area, but people will have a chance to view the exhibition of all the entries at The Secret Gallery at the Shambles.
Then, Mary will be busy in Ross at the Baptist Church Art Exhibition. She will be setting up on Monday, September 10th, and the exhibition will be open to view from Tuesday, September 11th until Saturday, September 15th.
Mary will soon launch a ‘Paint a Poppy Flanders Field’ event, in support of the British Legion’s 100th anniversary.
Everyone is invited to create a poppy painting on a piece of card which she will supply. They will become part of a large Flanders Field display which will be put on show somewhere in Ross, in time for Remembrance Day.
All ages and ability are encouraged, and it can be an individual or a group, like a school, that takes part. The project is free to enter, but donations will be accepted and proceeds will go to support the Ross British Legion.
The painting must be on the official card but can be done in any medium. It must contain at least one poppy.
Official cards will be available at the Ross Baptist Art Exhibition from September 11th to September 15th or from Mary’s artist studio at The Venue, Hill St, Ross-on-Wye HR9 7AD.
The closing date for all entries is October 31st, 2018.
Please return completed cards to Mary Deaville’s studio.
