A Ross-on-Wye family are trying to raise funds to buy a special wheelchair for their son, eleven year old Thomas Harrhy.

“Thomas suffers from cerebral palsy, spastic diplegia and a learning delay.” Said Dave Harrhy, Thomas’s Dad, who started the appeal just a matter of weeks ago. “He currently has a manual NHS wheelchair that he uses but it is becoming increasingly difficult to use and there is no replacement within sight.”

“The Ross-on-Wye contours are too steep for Thomas to independently push himself and a new wheelchair with a battery-powered attachment will not only help him during his teenage years but also provide essential confidence during the difficult transition from a child to a teenager.”

“Since launching the appeal we have all been astounded by the generous financial support from members of the public and local businesses who have been donating goods and services to us to raffle at auction at upcoming fund raising events."

Local businesses who are able to support Thomas Harrhy’s fundraising can contact David Harrhy by telephone on 07542 008266 or by email at [email protected]. Financial contributions can be made online at www.gofundme.com/thomasharrhy
