Madam, I am writing in response to Mrs Southan's letter last week concerning my letter published the week before. Many of the quotes Mrs Southan attributes to me are incorrect, as can be evidenced by reading my letter again. Her accusation that I am supposed to have said the current swimming pool site has no impact on the town is absolutely untrue, I have never ever said that.

Please do not mistake my balance for bias. If anyone ever wants to know what I think about something or what I am doing about something please call or email me and I will tell you.

The real reason these ideas have so far not been discussed outside of council meetings is that we have not yet explored all the options, and the potential benefits and impacts of any redevelopment. I am told by Mrs Southan to 'get off the fence'.

In response - if sitting on the fence means waiting for all of that information to be in front of me so that I can make a balanced, educated and informed decision I will remain there until I have those facts.
