Lots of local people have been decorating the Ross-on-Wye Christmas tree, since it was put up in the Market Square on Friday, November 18th.
Last year, Katie Fowler, a local woman, had the idea to encourage Ross residents to add their own decorations to the tree, after most of the Christmas lights were vandalised.
Ross-on-Wye Town Council purchased new decorations for the tree this year, but as many people took so much joy out of adding their own touches to the Christmas tree last year, Katie organised it so that last year’s effort could become an annual tradition.
She approached the Christmas Shop on Broad Street, and asked them if they would stock non-breakable baubles. Gavin and Wayne Oates who run the shop agreed, and even offered to give them to their customers, free of charge with every purchase. If customers would like to make a donation for their baubles, this will be donated to Ross-based charity, Rocky-Lee’s Little Feet.
The team at the Ross Gazette think that the tree is looking especially lovely this year. Have you added any baubles to the tree? Tell us about it, either in the comments below, or email [email protected]
