A grey and overcast setting greeted them, and upon winning the toss skipper Mark Evans opted to unleash his bowlers on to the Ledbury batting order.
In the absence of Joe Griffiths, youngster Norman Dunford stepped up to share the new ball with seasoned pro, Neil Price, and the two immediately caused problems for the Ledbury batsmen. Price bowled excellently, returning figures of 2 for 15 from his twelve overs.
