THE annual New Year's Day Fun Run hosted by the Rowing Club was blessed by great weather, which brought out over 100 walkers and runners who wanted to burn off some festive calories or simply get out of the house.
The event, which has been taking place since the 1980s, started at the Hole in the Wall and followed the river back to the Rowing club bar.
Fancy dress was encouraged and this year Elves and Snowmen were observed hopping over puddles and jumping over styles.
This year's winner was Ben Osbourne, who, after taking a small detour on the course, still won by a clear margin over his nearest competitors.
The club was delighted to see such a large entry many of whom stayed for some food and beverages in the bar afterwards. They are grateful to Mandy, Tim, Jim and Sally for organising the food, Bryn, the official starter and Clive, Woody and Judith behind the bar.
