A VANDALISM incident in Ross-on-Wye during the early hours of Sunday, May 31 saw at least one shop window being damaged.
A premises in the town’s High Street suffered a broken window during the incident which was believed to have occurred between 1am and 2am.
Emma Willaims, owner of Woolly and Fluff, which had its window broken during the incident explained that some of the broken shards of glass with blood on it had been preserved and that emergency repairs had been made to secure the window.
Ms Williams, a member of the Ross Business Association, said that the owner of the store opposite has CCTV of the incident, which will be forwarded to the police in due course.
It is believed that the vandalism could have been the result of late-night fight between revellers.
Ms Williams asked a question on social media: “Has your partner or family member friend come home with cuts to their hand? Please get them to come forward to help with the costs of this window at the lovely Woolly and Fluff.
Another High Street trader set up a gofund me page to help pay for the costs of replacing the window at gofund.me/4aa9e7202.
This is the second recent incident of antisocial behaviour with the mosaic outside the town’s library being damaged in April.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: “We received a call around 8am on Sunday morning (May 31) with a report of criminal damage at a business on the High Street in Ross-On-Wye and enquiries into the incident are on-going.”
