Bridstow Brownies joined the Ross Community Litter Clean Up Crew for a litter pick in Ross recently and are very grateful to them for to helping the girls keep their Stop the Drop pledge.

They met at Homs Road car park ready to carry out a litter pick around by the Rowing Club and across to the dual carriageway bridge. Despite the rain a large group of girls turned out to help and they collected 11 bags of rubbish. One of the Leaders carefully cleared the brook of cans and glass bottles and the girls hunted in the hedgerows and grass.

Brown Owl, Claire Lines, said: “We are so proud of our young members. They all turn up with a big smile determined to do their bit for our community. Even the rain doesn’t dampen their spirit.”

The group would also like to say a big thank you to the parents and siblings of the Brownies who joined them for event. The support is very much appreciated. See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
