With Christmas less than a week away, there is still time to enter Ross-on-Wye Town Council’s ‘Winter Wellbeing Giveaway’ worth £300 which closes at midnight Saturday 24 December. One lucky winner will receive a night’s accommodation for two people at The King’s Head Hotel on the High Street plus a spa experience for two people at Wye Valley Massage Therapies, dinner for two at Italian bistro, Avellino, and a hamper of wellbeing gifts sourced from local retailers.

Launched last month in conjunction with Ross Business Association's ‘The Ross Great Gift Giveaway’, the final prize is organised by the town council after a month’s worth of weekly draws which have taken place at participating RBA independent retailers in Ross-on-Wye town centre.

All entries from the RBA’s giveaway will be entered into the town council’s final prize draw as well as those choosing to enter online via social media by liking, tagging and sharing the ‘Winter Wellbeing Giveaway’ post on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

The total value of the prizes donated by independent retailers in the month-long gift giveaway is over £450 and lucky winners and gifts have included Mrs M Baldwin (scarf, gloves and gift voucher from Lainey's); Rachel Davies (woollen throw from Crowsfeet); Zoe Payne (£25 Livinloom voucher); Mrs Scott (£20 voucher from Field Fayre Organic Store); Helen Morris (£50 Lizzie Bunting vouchers); Sarah Ebert (free basket of ironing donated by Bright & Beautiful); Linda Passey (Little Saplings' bag of goodies); C Byrne (bottle of wine from Truffles Delicatessen); Daniel Pomfret (gift donated by Andy Pack Car Care); Fiona Morrison (large canvas print from Kodak Express); Rory Lane (a Mary Rose crown tealight holder from Gallery 54); Sarah Howells (£30 vouchers from women’s boutique, at broad st), and Nick Harris (£20 voucher from vintage retailer space / inside on the High Street).

Supporting local businesses is at the heart of the town council’s strategy and the prize will be drawn after 24 December with the winner announced after 3 January. Tourism & Marketing Manager, Jane Mainey, commented: “Supporting local businesses and independent retailers is at the heart of the town council’s tourism strategy. By collaborating with the Ross Business Association, we see this as a way of promoting our wonderful local independents and drawing visitors in to shop locally to support our high street when they most need it. All entries from the RBA’s ‘Ross Great Gift Giveaway’ will be in with a chance of winning this amazing prize as well as anyone who enters online via our social media pages. We hope the lucky winner enjoys their overnight stay here - Ross has plenty to offer anyone looking for a relaxing break or wanting to recharge their batteries in the new year.”
