Charlie Griffiths is a born entrepreneur, although he is just 12 years old he has already started several businesses, and is currently developing his new range of scented products.

Throughout his time at primary school Charlie, who lives in Brampton Abbotts, Ross-on-Wye, has sold items that he has bought after thinking there would be a profit to be made from them. He also invested in a range of delicious chocolates which he sold to family and friends. He was a member of the school council at Kings Caple Primary School and helped with fundraising, but it is his latest project which is really taking off.

Charlie has developed his own range of scented candles, reed diffusers and room sprays. He put a lot of thought into deciding the kind of product he wanted to sell.

He told the Ross Gazette that it had to be something with a long shelf life, as well as something he could supply at a reasonable price and be stored and transported quite easily. He was also keen to supply a product which was made in the UK. Charlie has started to build his range, which is still small but distinctive. He really wants to develop the brand, Hood + May. This is a mix of family names, his paternal grandmother’s maiden name and several female members of the family shared the christian name May.
