The owners of Broadmeadow Caravan Park in Ross-on-Wye are getting increasingly worried about the condition of the brooks which are near to their site.
Mr and Mrs Edwards spoke to the Ross Gazette some months ago when they contacted Herefordshire Council about their concerns regarding the lack of maintenance.
However, they told the Ross Gazette this week that nothing had been done and they had not been able to obtain any information about when any remedial work will be done.
Brian Edwards has taken several photographs, which he has also passed on to the council, explaining the reasons for his worries. He is particularly concerned that the flood alleviation scheme for Ross, which cost millions of pounds to install, will not work properly in the event of exceptional rainfall as it has not been maintained.
He said that there is silt, soil and weeds within the syphon at Checkley Brook. There are also trees and weeds blocking Rudhall Brook and the culvert from Brookmead Estate into Rudhall Brook is completely blocked by silt and debris.
He told the Ross Gazette:?“What would have been an easy job in the summer for someone to clear the brooks just using a long pole to pull the weeds clear, will now need an excavator and cost far more.
