Staff at the Vodafone store in Ross-on-Wye have teamed up with The Ross Gazette to find a local charity which most deserves their £1,000 Community Connection Award.
Who is eligible for the Community Connection Award?
The winning charity/group could be anything from a local soup kitchen that needs money for a new oven to a local scout group which needs new uniform. However, the winning cause needs to meet the following criteria:
* It should be a local charity that makes a significant impact on the local community
* It cannot be a personal or individual plight, nor a government funded organisation
* The award must also be for a specific project or purpose, rather than just to cover operating costs
* The award must be stand-alone rather than form any part of a larger contribution or bigger appeal
* Nominees must have a registered charity number
The Vodafone Community Connection Awards is Vodafone’s way of giving back to the communities that their hard working store staff call home.
Vodafone and the Ross Gazette are inviting clubs, causes and groups in Ross-on-Wye to apply to win by telling us how £1000 could really help. That £1000 could be for a new washing machine for the local football club, new crockery for food donation services, or anything in between, as long as it would be used to benefit nearby members of the community, we want to know about it.
The money will only go to groups, clubs and organisations that have a real, positive impact in their area, and the lucky winners will collect their cheque in their nearest Vodafone store.
Deadline for nominations is Friday 5th August 12 noon. For full details on how to make a nomination see this week’s Ross Gazette.
