Ross Town Council agreed to support consider a request by residents of Kent Avenue who are appealing for changes to a wall to make the road safer.
Councillor Phil Cutter, who was unable to attend the meeting wrote a letter to his fellow Councillors, which was read out at the meeting on Monday, December 10th. He said: “I fully support their request for improvements to the visual amenity at the junction of Kent Avenue and Alton Road.” He explained that this will involve lowering the wall and various ground works.
He added that anyone who knows the road will know the danger of collision and incidents at this junction.”
Cllr Cutter has also been working with the residents, Police and Herefordshire Council’s road safety officer regarding the issue of the large number of heavy vehicles which use Kent Avenue.
Action has been agreed in this area, depending on finance being available from outside sources other than Herefordshire Council.
He explained that the request for changes to the junction was a separate issue but he added: “I believe this is in the public interest to be taken seriously by the Town Council.”
