Jordan Creed, a Ross man who has been campaigning to pursuade Herefordshire Council not to make excessive cuts to the bus service, is challenging local Councillors to use buses for a month.
Jordan told the Ross Gazette that the challenge is open to all Ross Town Councillors, and Herefordshire County Councillors who are considering voting in favour of cutting the bus services further.
He explained that Councillors who want to take part in his challenge can do it in any month of their choosing; they can begin when they wish, and they cannot use any other mode of transport.
Jordan was in Ross-on-Wye town centre on Saturday, February 13th, to raise awareness for the campaign.
Ross Town Councillor, Daniel Lister, helped Jordan collect signatures for the paper petition. Jordan explained that Cllrs Caroline Utting and Caroline Bennett also came to show their support on Saturday, as did Melvin Hodges, who is the Labour candidate in the forthcoming by-election for Ross North Ward.
Some representatives from other areas of Herefordshire also demonstrated support for the campaign; members from the Green Party and It’s Our County came to Ross during the morning and early afternoon.
