Local members of 38 Degrees, one of the UK's biggest campaigning communities, handed a copy of a petition to Jesse Norman, at Ross Library, on December 20th to fix or scrap the Transparency of Lobbying, Non-party Campaigning and Trade Union Administration Bill currently going through Parliament.

The Bill reduces the amount non-party campaigners may spend before they are required to register with the Electoral Commission in an attempt to stop corporate businesses from influencing elections as it would restrict the amount of money they could spend in the year preceding an election.
