Staff and residents at Ross Court Care Home, on the Ledbury Road in Ross-On-Wye are celebrating as their much-loved colleague, Valerie Compton, receives company wide recognition after 15 years of dedication and service to the home.

Originally from Walford, Val moved to Ross-On-Wye when she was just 13 and has lived in the town ever since. Her first role in Ross was as a carer, where she worked at multiple local care homes. Following the closure of her previous employer, Val joined the team at Ross Court Care Home 15 years ago and hasn’t looked back. Val has such an amazing dedication to the whole team, and all of the residents at Ross Court. She has been with Ross Court so long as she feels part of another family whilst at work, and has spent so much time with all residents, and knows them on a personal level. Residents all look to Val as a familiar and friendly face, but also as a genuine, trusted companion who is exceptional at her job.

Val comments: “Working with such a fabulous team makes it an absolute joy to come to work each day. It is a real credit to the whole home that so many of us continue working at Ross Court after such long periods of time. I consider myself really lucky, as not many people get to wake up and be as happy as I am to go to work, alongside a great team, providing exceptional care for residents of Ross Court.”
