The Association of Ross Traders are proud to present a full week celebrating the great town of Ross-on-Wye. As well as a perfect way to honour the town and its businesses, Ross Week falls over half-term, so there will be plenty around to keep the kids entertained.
Ross Week runs from 24th to 31st October.
From games and giveaways, (Saturday 24th), to late-night shopping (Wednesday 28th), there is something for everyone. Events include a chilled kick-off by way of the Oddfellows Costa Social at the Market House on Sunday from 10.30am – 12.30pm, then ramping up to the Wye Fit Workout that afternoon (1-2pm at the Market House). Renew your look as well as your workout, and head to Peter Hickman Hairstyling, also at the Market House, on Wednesday from 2-3.30pm. If you’re keen to brush up on your knowledge of the housing market and how to navigate it, pop in to one of the talks by Hamilton Stiller, running every weekday from 1.30-2pm.
There will also be workshops to help will all sorts of skills, from wood-turning with Eleanor Kercher on Tuesday 1-3pm, to knife skills from The Cookshop on Friday 1-2pm (both at the Market House), and even a drop-in sewing machine clinic at Essential Sewing on Wednesday. Want to sharpen your knitting skills for winter? No problem, Chris Champness is on hand on Friday from 11am-12pm at the Market House to help you find your way around the needles. If you want to figure out your computer issues, pay a visit to Pots & Pieces on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday between 2 and 3pm for free Logiplex computer advice.
Wednesday really is the night. Not only will participating shop-owners be keeping their doors open until 8pm, but there will be a flurry of other appearances to add to the festivities. These include the sale of Truffles Deli’s luxury hot chocolate, Brittany Davies jewellery and henna, and Caz Holbrook providing you an opportunity to get your gifting hat on with her wonderful Christmas cards. As well as these great retail experiences, we have world-renowned gypsy-jazz guitarist Remi Harris to serenade you through the evening. Remi will be joined by a double bassist, and will be playing a set of infectious guitar magic from 6-8pm.
ART told the Ross Gazette "We want Ross residents to be involved too! Ross Week is about celebrating the town, and its people. If you send a tweet at any point during the festivities using the hashtag #RossWeek, you will be entered into a prize draw to win an exclusive ART goodie bag."
