A charge to use the public toilets in Ross-on-Wye is to be introduced.

Work is beginning shortly on coin-operated systems at the toilet blocks situated in Red Meadow and Wye Street.

There is to be baby changing facilities in both the female and male toilets. The charge will be 20p. However, the disabled toilet will be accessible using a Radar key that will be free of charge. The toilets will also be open 24 hours a day, while currently they are closed in the evenings.

This charge hopes to offset the cost of the upkeep and maintenance of the toilets. Ross Town Council took on the toilets in an asset transfer from the County Council to make sure that they stayed open.See this week’s paper for more stories like this, available in shops and as a Digital Edition now.
