There was excellent support for South Herefordshire Golf Club's 2009 Acorns Golf Day, with a full morning of 'tee-offs' from the 1st and 10th tees.
Team prizes were presented to the Men's Winning Team Colin Jones, Steve Bennett, Will Jones, Bill Dignan. Runners-up James Leaver, Leo Tarrant, Rod Leaver, Richard Tanner. 3rd Place team Mel Walton, Ben Bates, Neal Vanstone, Rob Lerigo. Womens Winning Team: Anita Leaver, Margaret Edwin, Debbie Griffiths, Maureen Bishop.
The Club is grateful to VW South Hereford Garages, at Whitchurch, for their continuing support. A cheque for £1,800 was donated to the Acorns charity.
The 2009 Club Championships were played over 36 holes. A strong entry and good course conditions ensured a good standard of play, with many close finises. The winners were presented with their trophies by Men's captain Martin Latham, to the Gross Winner Jon Tookey and the Nett Winner Gary Monk.
