Last November Leon Hill was seriously injured during his usual morning bike ride to work. He sufferered catastrophic, life-changing injuries, but last Saturday, June 14th, his family and friends were thrilled to welcome him to the Weston Cross.
Leon joined the group as they cheered on cyclists Richard and Tim, who were part-way through their epic John O'Groats to Lands End cycle ride to raise £7500. Their aim is to provide a specialist bed and electric wheelchair for Leon when he returns home after a long period of rehabilitation. They called into the Weston Cross as they made passed through the area.
Leon was a keen cyclist and marathon runner but is now almost entirely paralysed from the neck down and is currently at a rehabilitation unit in Gloucester. Other than visits to his family, this is his first outing since his accident last November.
