Conductor, Emma Rowland, is starting a new children’s choir in Ross-on-Wye in October.
Ross Children’s Chorus will be made up of 100 children from across the area to help make a huge noise and do great things in the locality.
There’s no audition necessary to join and you don’t have to know how to read music. Emma just wants members to have a passion for singing and making friends. Ross Children’s Chorus is open to all children in school years 3-8 (ages 7-13). Rehearsals will take place weekly on Sunday afternoons from 2-4pm, at a central venue in Ross, starting on October 13th.
Emma is a professional conductor/composer/vocal coach. She told the Ross Gazette: “I’ve worked with 15 different choirs over the last 18 years and hundreds of different singers. I’ve taken a children’s choir to perform with Alfie Boe and an adult ladies’ choir to compete at Llangollen International Music Eisteddfod. I now live in Ross and I’m eager to set up some new projects in the area.”See the full story in this week’s edition of the Ross Gazette, or subscribe to our online edition here
