The Ross Gazette reported recently that the Association of Ross Traders (ART) will not be running the Ross-on-Wye Christmas Fayre this year, but a party of Councillors on Ross Town Council have since revealed that they will be taking on the responsibility to organise the event themselves.
Those who have taken on the decision to organise this event are councillors, Caroline Bennett, Hannah Lerego, Daniel Lister, Richard Mayo and Craig Morgan, all of whom make up the Events Committee.
Cllr Lerego told the Ross Gazette: “We recognise how successful the Christmas Fayre is, and what an important part of the building up to the festive season it has become.”
During the Christmas Fayre, there will be the official turn on of the Christmas Tree and the Market House lights; all other town lights will be linked to the street light timers and will already be lit.
In order for the event to happen, and to comply with the application of the road closure licence, the councillors need help from local residents; the event needs volunteers and stewards. If you are able to help in other ways too prior to the day that would be welcomed.
