A meeting was held on Thursday August 5th to discuss the possibility of a cinema being set up in Ross. The Ross Town Plan report showed there is considerable support for the idea, and various options and ideas for venues were discussed; but it was agreed that a commercial cinema in the town is still some way off.

In the meantime, it was decided that there is a strong case for setting up a cinema club to sustain the towns interest in film.

The Phoenix Theatre management is keen to make greater use of its premises, and could be venue for a cinema club. A committe has been formed that will meet regularly and oversee the setting up and running of such a club.
